  • Tasting Notes

A deep purple-red in color with a velvety pour that opens to savory, peppery aromas laid atop dark black cherries, purple blackberries and boysenberries. Hints of bacon fat and graphite add a provocative allure next to beautiful lavender-led florals. Firm and gripping on the palate with dense fruit flavors and lively acidity that accentuates the white pepper. Light toasty oak makes an appearance at the end and lends a pastry-like, berry-pie flavor for an indelible finish.

  • Food Pairing

This wine is beautifully in sync with rosemary-scented rack of lamb, braised short ribs, or juicy grilled burger.

  • Appelation

Situated entirely inside San Luis Obispo County, Edna Valley traverses the landscape from the Pacific Ocean to the west to the Santa Lucia mountains to the east. Long known for its suitability for the Burgundian varietals Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Edna Valley has garnered recent acclaim for growing some of the most concentrated and focused Syrahs and Grenaches.

Cool temperatures throughout the summer mean that fruit hangs well into Autumn before harvest, gaining unparalleled flavor intensity. Edna Valley's soil ranges from sandy (nearer the coast) to volcanic (in the hills) and is rich in organic materials.
