About our organic certification

“Organic” is the most highly regulated food label in the U.S. Organic farming standards require our farms to be free of prohibited fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides. We verify our organic claims through a third-party certification, California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF).

Our Commitment to Certified Organic Grapes

Made with Organic Grapes isn’t just a statement on our label; it’s a commitment to sustainable practices from vineyard to winery. One of the most compelling reasons to choose organically farmed wine is its positive impact on the environment. Organic farming practices promote soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem balance. At its core, the process starts with ditching synthetic pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers in the vineyards. Instead, it relies on natural methods to nurture the vines and protect them from pests and diseases. (As an added bonus, these methods also often help protect against climate impacts).

Our Commitment to Our Producers

The Udsen Family  has worked with the McBride Sisters since 1987, providing established a foundation of trust and shared values regarding organic farming. The husband and wife team of Niels and Bimmer Udsen established Castoro Cellars in 1983 with the goal of producing world-class wines from Paso Robles-appellation grapes. Castoro Cellars currently has over 1,400 acres of Estate vineyards, which are certified organic by CCOF and all the vineyards are SIP Certified.

Through shared stories, workshops, and year-round support, we’re redefining what’s possible, together.

A word from our founders

"The new brand identity of McBride Sisters Collection communicates the ethos of our California-based business and aligns with our dedication to organic viticulture and sustainability.  Our mission was to make wine that’s accessible, socially conscious and culturally aware, all while building a wine legacy that reflects our story and values. By elevating the McBride Sisters brand, we are building on our foundation.  Embarking on this new chapter, our brand applies to:

  1. Environmental and sustainable impact certifications, including Make with Organic Grapes, Certified Sustainable, and others.
  2. Low-alcohol, alcohol-removed, and others.

This rebranding strengthens our position in the U.S, communicates our core values, and highlights our depth of market expertise. More than an evolution, it is a reflection of who we are and where we come from."
