Pricing & Planning Manager 

Role Description: Proactive, insights driven Pricing & Planning Manager

Dynamic, engaging company is seeking a Regional Sales Director to keep our small but quickly-growing business grooving. Reporting to SVP of Sales, the role is responsible for strategically managing brand growth within a defined region. Qualifications include detailed knowledge of the wine market including pricing, programming and inventory management; established contacts in the defined region, exceptional organizational skills, a positive and problem-solving attitude, strong work ethic with the ability to change gears and work efficiently. As we are a growing company, a sense of urgency in completing work is crucial. Comfort working collaboratively with a team is a must.

Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Support the annual budget planning process with key customers and across the distributor network
  • This includes maintaining and updating budget planning files and presentation support to gain agreement to goals
  • Maintain and update workbooks to track progress to goal throughout the year
  • Support quarterly review process with distributors and key accounts through analytical reporting
  • Lead the monthly sales forecasting process to report demand to the operations team
  • Create system to load shipments into our reporting system 
  • Point person for “VIP” systems
  • Ensure accuracy of system
  • Pull reports on regular and ad hoc basis. Reformat and conduct further analysis where needed
  • Escalate discrepancies to relevant sales team member to take to distributor
  • Train new team members on system where needed; ensure team is regularly using these systems via reporting and offering support
  • Manage, develop & coach a Sales Coordinator
  • Role includes detail-oriented responsibilities such as purchase order entry & fulfillment, new item submissions, new product submissions, sample submissions, etc.
  • Supply pricing for new item submissions
  • Ensure Sales Coordinator’s outputs are timely and 100% accurate
  • Utilize outputs for demand planning & pricing accuracy 
  • Pull national pricing for submissions
  • Support buyer presentations with Nielsen, IRI & depletion data to create sales stories
  • Maintain and update national accounts workbook
  • Proactively dig through VIP reporting, pricing & CRM systems to create and communicate key insights to the team
  • Support marketing to draw data insights from social media and other platforms where needed 
  • Create presentations and sales stories with key customer and scan data on regular and ad hoc basis
  • Engage with SGWS Customer Development/Business Intelligence team for new data (IRI, Nielsen) and draw insights from it

  • The ability to work efficiently within time constraints
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced excel skills including use of pivot tables and advanced formulas
  • Very well organized
  • An ability to multi-task and be agile with a changing environment and new responsibilities
  • A familiarity with both Mac and Windows-based operating systems
  • Computer skills to include: MS Word, MS Excel, Google sharing documents, sheets and calendars

This role is preferably based at our headquarters in Oakland, California with an immediate start date.
